The couple - who split in 2013 after three years together - have been spotted looking at wedding venues near to the Hemsworth family home in Byron Bay.
An insider told Us Weekly “they were discussing potential venues and looking around" the area.
"Miley’s mentioned she’s interested in having a bunch of bouncy houses. Like at a carnival!"
While neither star has publicly acknowledged their reconciliation, the 23-year-old singer has been sporting a ring on her engagement finger since January of this year.
The 26-year-old The Hunger Games actor recently revealed he prefers not to open up about his personal life.
"I just find it's easier to not talk about my personal life because usually I say the wrong thing, so it ends up just complicating things more," he confessed during an appearance on Entertainment Tonight. "So, I feel like it's better not to talk about it."
Last month, Liam denied he was engaged to Miley despite the increasing speculation.
When questioned on the status of their relationship by Australia's TV Week, he insisted they are not betrothed to each other.
